Betting in Sic Bo

There are single number bets, double number bets and triple number bets in Sic Bo. There are six betting areas provided at the bottom of the Sic Bo table which are called single number bets. Six number bets require you to bet on numbers from 1 to 6 and bet that in all the three throws if the single number you bet on comes up you win in the ratio of one to one. For example if you bet $10 on four, then if four comes up once you are paid $10 in addition to your bet. If it comes out twice then you are paid $20 and $30 if it comes out thrice.

The two number combinations is more challenging but pays handsomely if it were to occur. You may bet on say a six and a four and the rolling outcome is 4, 7 and 6. You will be paid higher odds of 6 to 1 but in this case you are paid once on the two number combinations as the win is considered as one.

There is also a three number total bet which consists of the totals of rolling three dice. Different totals have varied odds but 3 and 18 are automatic losses. The other outcomes have the following payout ratios;

• or 17 has pay out ratio of 50 to 1
• or 16 comes with a pay out ratio of 25 to 1
• or 15 has a pay out ratio of 15 to 1
• or 14 has a pay out ratio of 10 to 1
• or 13 has a pay out ratio of 6 to 1
• or 12 has a pay out ratio of 5 to 1
• or 11 attracts a pay out ratio of 5 to 1

These pay out ratios are based on the probability of getting the numbers when 3 dice are rolled. The more the chances of getting a certain total the lower the payment odds. But you need note that uniform numbers say 1, 1, and 1, or 6, 6, and 6 are not wins.

It is possible to combine two lines of bets from the above chart but that will reduce the odds to 1 to 1. You can wager on a specified triplets and the pay out ratio will be 150 to 1. If you choose to wager on any triplet you are entitled to a pay out ratio of 25 to 1.

Sic Bo Tip

Sic Bo is based on pure mathematical probability and the more difficult it is to get a combination total the higher the pay out ratio; sometimes Sic Bo is compared with craps though they aredifferent a bit. You can increase your chances of winning by reducing you expected pay out ratio and make a bet with greater probability but lower pay out ratios.
