Playing Craps

Craps is relatively simple to play and craps tips easy to master. Two dice are rolled and bets are made on the possible outcomes. The total possible outcomes from rolling two dice are known to be 36 but some numbers have a greater likelihood of occurring than others. The player who rolls the dice is called the shooter. One player can do all the shooting or a few players interested in shooting may do so usually in an alternating manners going anticlockwise. The shooter makes the bet first before starting to shoot and takes the position of pass line bet. Pass line bet means betting that in the roll out, either a seven or eleven will come up i.e. the totals of the two dice rolled.

If a seven or eleven is rolled then the player wins along with others who betted on pass line. If the outcome of the roll is a 2, 3 or 12 then the don't pass line bets win and the pass line bets loose. But a rolling outcome of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 leads to a situation called 'point'. The exact number rolled is taken as the point and the next round of play includes the point. If the point is rolled before 7 in the subsequent rolls, then the pass line bets win but if the number 7 is rolled before the point then the don't pass line bet wins.

A shooter remains on the pass line side of the bet until he either looses or wins and may have to hand over that role if he desires to change his bet.

Craps Tips

Craps is a game of probability and the results are never predetermined. But as a shooter you certainly have more probability of winning along side those who may bet on pass line with you. This is because 7 has a greater chance of showing up with 1 chance in 6 rolls. 11 has a chance of 1 out of 18 which means you have total winning probability of 2 out 9 rolls. On the other hand the don't pass line bet require a 2, 3, or 12 which have probabilities of 1 over 36, lover 18, and 1 over 36 respectively translating to a total winning probability of 1 out of nine. It basically means that the pass line bets have a double probability of winning than the don't pass line bet. As such it is better to bet on pass line and to be a little persistent then you will most likely win. Betting on pass line is therefore a craps tip.
